And that’s a good thing. The “Das Falkenstein” era will come to an end in July 2026.
Petra, Steffen, and Christopher—since 2025, they’ve been the new yet experienced hosts. The final season under the name Falkenstein is now history—and yes, this is and will be a big step toward an exciting future. With a new concept, a new name, and lots of ideas, a special place will be created in the coming months and years.

“Of course, we’re taking with us everything that defines this place, this region, and the people of Pinzgau: the mountains, the activity, the peace and quiet afterward, and, above all, the shared moments that will stay with us,” says hostess Petra Wimmer-Sochor, summing it up perfectly.
As a family-run hotel deeply rooted in the region, both the family and the team—who know the area well—are on hand to offer tips and advice. “Our love for the Kitzsteinhorn, as well as for sports and nature, was a key factor in our decision to acquire this hotel,” says Christopher Sochor, offering insight into the decision-making process. In any case—this much we can reveal: for active people, this is becoming a place of respectful togetherness, of gathering, of sharing, and of shared moments that we hope will be both unforgettable and bonding. It’s worth staying tuned, no matter which core channel you’re on.

I’m absolutely delighted with Hotel Falkenstein! The interior design is beautiful – a successful blend of modern style and charming vintage furniture. Throughout the hotel, you’ll discover lovingly designed details that bring a smile to your face – from the reception area all the way to the rooms.
Our room was especially lovely: modern, cozy, and with its own unique and distinctive character. You immediately feel at home. Breakfast was also excellent, offering a pleasantly wide selection of fresh, homemade dishes such as granola, chia pudding, and omelets. Everything tasted wonderful.
The beautiful spa area invites you to relax, and the natural swimming pond is a true highlight. The location is ideal: the Kitzsteinhorn ski area is just a few minutes away, and the center of Kaprun is also within easy walking distance.
We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful hotel – I truly recommend it from the bottom of my heart.
